The Location
Batz-sur-Mer is a commune of the Loire-Atlantique department. The city enjoys a rich history that can be seen while visiting the city. The city offers its visitor a port, hiking, ocean’s excursion, mountain hiking. There are also caves, St Anne chapel, large sport station, casino, medieval castles, fishing opportunities, churches. There is forest nearby to enjoy for hiking fans and bicycle riding. Batz-sur-Mer is on a peninsula with the sea on one side and the salt marshes on the other. Le Croisic, a fishing port, is at the end of the peninsula and is attractive and walkable/cyclable. Le Pouliguen is on the river that separates it from La Baule. La Baule is sophisticated and has its own charm lying among pine trees. Guérande is a medieval walled city, a little inland, and has to be seen. The Brière is a huge freshwater marshland, a conservation area and beautiful.

Access
By road
It is possible to stay in Batz without a car as all food is available, but there is a lot to see locally and a car is better.
Taxis and a shuttle bus service connect the airport with Nantes city centre and the SNCF railway station, from where a train should be caught to Le Croisic (TGV) rail station (2 kilometres from the hotel), or Batz sur Mer station (500 metres from the hotel). Batz sur Mer is best explored on foot, while the surrounding coastal area can be seen by train or by car.
By plane
Nearest airport is Nantes (Ryanair have just started a service from Stansted) - an hour's drive. St. Malo ferry port is just under 3 hours' drive; Cherbourg, Caen about 4 hours and about 7 from Calais.
